Senate D’s Blocking Record Education Funding
Lansing, MI - Families, teachers, and school districts across the state are eagerly waiting for Lansing to pass an education budget.
When it comes to education, one-size-fits-all mandates from Lansing haven't worked. That’s why House Republicans are proposing a historic $12,000 per-student foundational allowance, a 20% increase over the current year, empowering local decisions over education dollars.

“House Republicans are putting student success at the forefront with plans that deliver more resources, flexibility, transparency, and accountability in Michigan classrooms. Senate Democrats should put students first, abandon the failing playbook of the past, and embrace the House Republican education plan,” said Zach Rudat, Spokesperson for Michigan Forward Network.
