Michigan AG Charges Non-Citizens Who Voted

Lansing, MI – Today, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced charges against five non-citizens who voted in the 2024 election. Despite evidence to the contrary, Michigan Secretary of State and Democrat nominee for governor Jocelyn Benson has claimed that her policies prevent non-citizen voting:

A Chinese national was caught voting in 2024, and his ballot was counted. He later fled the United States while charges against him were pending. Benson was finally forced to do a review of non-citizens voting in Michigan’s elections and found more than a dozen other examples, but still maintains that she runs “safe” elections.

“Jocelyn Benson has lied again and again about non-citizens voting in Michigan’s elections,” said Gabe Butzke, a spokesperson for Michigan Forward Network. “It should be easy to vote and hard to cheat, but Benson has shown she has no interest in protecting the integrity of our elections.”
