ICYMI: Jocelyn Benson’s Casual Relationship with the Truth

Lansing, MI – Tonight, Secretary of State (SOS) Jocelyn Benson and Congressman John James will face off in the second debate for Michigan’s gubernatorial election. In their first debate last week, Benson struggled at times to be completely honest with the voters watching at home:

She also was not clear on what her tax “plan” actually included, mirroring her past struggle with remembering Michigan’s current income tax rate:

When asked what she would do differently than Michigan’s sitting governor, Gretchen Whitmer, Benson failed to produce a single meaningful example:

“Jocelyn Benson struggled with honesty on the debate stage a lot last week, and we expect that struggle to continue tonight,” said Gabe Butzke, a spokesperson for Michigan Forward Network. “Benson owes Michiganders the truth about her failures as Secretary of State and the Democat policies that have driven Michigan into the ground, but we won’t hold our breath.”
