ICYMI: Benson’s Controversy with the Michigan Supreme Court Explained

Lansing, MI – Michigan Secretary of State and Democrat nominee for governor Jocelyn Benson has been running on a campaign of transparency and efficiency, but last week during her first debate with Congressman John James, she was caught in a lie about her family’s ties to data centers:

To make matters worse for Benson’s "transparency" argument, she has come under fire before for donating tens of thousands of dollars to a Michigan Supreme Court (MSC) Justice who later authored a ruling in her favor:

“Jocelyn Benson wants to be the transparency candidate, but the reality is that she has been anything but,” said Gabe Butzke, a spokesperson for Michigan Forward Network. “She lied on the debate stage last week, she’ll probably lie again this week, and her record as Secretary of State has been one transparency failure after another.”
