What to Expect From Whitmer’s Final Budget Recommendation

Lansing, MI – Tomorrow, Governor Gretchen Whitmer will present her final budget recommendation to a joint committee on Appropriations. After seven years of kowtowing to her activist allies and Lansing insiders, Michigan families deserve a budget that takes all their priorities into account.

Gretchen Whitmer has an opportunity in this, her final fiscal year, to actually work on the problems Michiganders face. For her budget recommendation to be a success, the governor has to include things like the education scholarships she previously vetoed, tax relief for job creators and working families, and an approach to energy affordability that can help Michiganders overcome the burdens created by Lansing Democrats’ far-left, Green New Deal energy policies.

“We can’t say we have high expectations for Gretchen Whitmer’s final budget recommendation,” said Gabe Butzke, a spokesperson for Michigan Forward Network. “Michigan families deserve a budget that puts their interests over the interests of Lansing insiders and leftist policymakers. Tomorrow, we’ll find out if Governor Whitmer agrees.”
