The Reviews Are In: Schumer Shutdown was Political Theater
Lansing, MI – Yesterday, after over 40 days of gridlock, the U.S. Senate reached an agreement to end the Schumer Shutdown. Despite massive delays at airports and families in need running out of government assistance, Michigan Senators Elissa Slotkin and Gary Peters still voted to keep the federal government shut down.

Senator Dick Durbin admitted that radical leftists in his party wanted to continue the shutdown, which explains why Gary Peters and Elissa Slotkin voted against supporting Michigan families.
“At the end of the day, the federal government shutdown was nothing more than political theater,” said Gabe Butzke, a spokesperson for the Michigan Forward Network. “Radical Leftists like Elissa Slotkin and Gary Peters were more concerned about playing their parts in the Schumer shutdown than representing the hard-working people of Michigan.
