Parents Have Had Enough of the Radical Trans Agenda
Yesterday, Republican members of the Michigan House of Representatives stood with parents to defend the rights and safety of girls in high school sports. This season, the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA), in defiance of federal policy, allowed a biological boy to participate in girls’ sports.
The parents of a student-athlete from Monroe High School recognized the failures of the MHSAA and Skyline High School in Ann Arbor and filed a Title IX complaint against the school. Legislators, including Representatives Jamie Thompson, Rylee Linting, and Jim DeSana held a press conference with the parents to show their support for girls’ athletics.
Despite a change in federal education policy under President Donald Trump, the MHSAA decided to offer waivers that would allow boys to compete in girls’ sporting events. This year, a biological boy was allowed to play on the Ann Arbor Skyline High School girls’ volleyball team and use the girls’ changing facilities. Parents were not notified of the school’s decision beforehand.
“It’s unfortunate that this complaint is even necessary,” said Gabe Butzke, a spokesperson for Michigan Forward Network. “The MHSAA and high schools across Michigan should be complying with federal policy and protecting the integrity of girls’ athletics. We’re glad that Republican legislators and parents are taking the safety of women athletes seriously and are standing up for girls across Michigan.”
