Eli Savit Runs Scared From Eli Savit

Lansing, MI – In a report from Bridge Michigan, radical Washtenaw County prosecutor and Democrat candidate for attorney general Eli Savit is trying to distance himself from his own record.

Savit has been widely criticized for his far-left policies in Washtenaw County, including ending cash bail and stopping the enforcement of certain crimes. But, now that he is the Democrat Party’s pick to be Michigan’s top lawyer, he is running away from the policies he implemented as a prosecutor, saying those policies “aren’t big parts of my platform as attorney general.”

Michigan Forward Network CEO Ronna McDaniel predicted this bait and switch in May, pointing out that Savit’s extreme policies were too radical for the people of Michigan:

Savit himself has now realized the message he has been pushing as a Soros-backed prosecutor for years is too unpopular, and he is attempting to backtrack.

“Don’t believe for a second that Eli Savit has had a sudden change of heart when it comes to his far-left policies,” said Gabe Butzke, a spokesperson for Michigan Forward Network. “This is what Democrats do: they campaign like moderates but plan to govern like Marxists.”
