Democrat ‘Expert’: Parents Don’t Know What’s Best for their Kids

Lansing, MI – This afternoon, the Michigan State Board of Education passed a resolution updating sexual education standards. The new standards have been harshly criticized by parents across the state for their far-left ideological bias and being filled with unscientific, activist gender theory.

At the hearing on Thursday, Democrats called an “expert” to testify about the new standards. In a statement that could only be described as a complete insult to families across Michigan, he told the Board that parents “do not know best – scientists know best.” 

This is just more evidence that Democrat politicians believe it should be up to the government to raise kids – not parents. The effort to sideline parents from making decisions for their kids has never been more blatant.

This appeal to “science” comes from the same party that believes that there are more than two genders and that boys can become girls, and girls can become boys.

“Surely, telling parents that they don’t know what’s best for their own kids will be a winning message with voters,” said Gabe Butzke, a spokesperson for Michigan Forward Network.”This is just another example of how critically out of touch the left is with Michigan parents. To Denise Mentzer, Reggie Miller, Kevin Hertel, and all the Democrats hoping to win next November, it’s a simple question: Do you agree that parents don’t know what’s best for their kids?”
