ICYMI: President Trump Speaks on Job Creation, Affordability

Lansing, MI – President Donald Trump was in Michigan today, where he toured the Ford River Rouge plant in Dearborn and spoke to the Detroit Economic Club. The president highlighted his commitment to American-made vehicles, saying:

We don’t need cars made in Canada, we don’t need cars made in Mexico – we want to make them here.”

President Trump also mentioned the historic level of investment coming to Detroit:

U.S. auto factories are now seeing more than $70 billion in new investment [...] and much of that money is coming right here to the car-making capital of the world, Detroit.

As many Michiganders face an affordability crisis created by Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Lansing Democrats, President Trump noted the lower gas prices under his administration:

We have gas stations in the Detroit area where you can fill up for less than $2.30 a gallon, whereas two years ago, it was $4.50 a gallon.”

“President Trump is again proving that Republicans have solutions for the problems Michiganders face,” said Gabe Butzke, a spokesperson for the Michigan Forward Network. “On jobs, affordability, and inflation, Republicans are working to make Michigan a safer and cheaper place to live, work, and raise a family.”
