Democrat Policies Continue to Hurt Michigan Families
Lansing, MI –A new report shows that Michigan continues to lag behind other states for jobs under the leadership of Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Lansing Democrats.
The report, released by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) shows that Michigan is facing an unemployment rate of 5.1%, compared to only 4.4% nationally. Last year, under a Democrat trifecta in Lansing, unemployment rose for seven consecutive months.
Of the top 15 states with the lowest unemployment rate, 11 of them are led by Republicans:
Michigan is in the bottom five, along with California, New Jersey, Oregon, and Nevada.
Democrat policies aren’t just costing states jobs. Their policies are also making states like Michigan more expensive to live in.
As a result of Democrats’ radical Green New Deal energy package, Michigan is also one of the worst states for energy affordability:
“Michigan Democrats are doing their best to raise costs and kill jobs, all at the same time,” said Gabe Butzke, a spokesperson for Michigan Forward Network. “From attacking affordable energy to taxing Michiganders more, Gretchen Whitmer and Lansing Democrats seem committed to making it harder to live, work, and raise a family here in Michigan.”
