Democrat Nominee for AG Let a Violent Criminal Walk Free

Lansing, MI – This week, a woman in her 40s was shot in front of her young son by a 25-year-old man with a violent, criminal past. The shooting occurred in Oakland County on Tuesday, but the perpetrator is from Ann Arbor, where Democrat nominee for Attorney General and current county prosecutor Eli Savit has implemented Soros-backed, soft-on-crime policies.

According to Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, the perpetrator has a history of violence. In fact, at the time of the shooting, he was on probation for hog-tying a woman with duct tape and suffocating her with a plastic bag. The arresting agency sought to charge him with assault with intent to murder, which could carry a life sentence, but Savit allowed him back out onto the street with probation, where he has continued to be a danger to the community.

Soros-backed prosecutors like Savit take pride in their soft-on-crime agenda, even though they often lead to jumps in violent crime. Savit has implemented far-left, Soros policies, like ending cash bail and stopping the enforcement of drug crimes. He was also recently sued by the Department of Justice for obstructing federal law enforcement.

“The policies for far-left prosecutors like Eli Savit have real-life consequences for real people,” said Gabe Butzke, a spokesperson for Michigan Forward Network. “A woman was shot because a dangerous criminal was allowed to walk free. Savit hasn’t just made his own county less safe; he has made Michigan less safe.”
